Nemone Mercer
Core Landscapes Project Director
Nemone is passionate about connecting people with the natural environment through plants, for the benefit of both, and promoting the value of this work to stakeholders. She is a keen environmentalist and advocate of green community action for both mental health and to address the climate and biodiversity emergencies. She has been community gardening, and garden designing, for 15 years, and working in mental health and environmental stewardship for 12 years as Core Landscapes’ project director.
In this role Nemone also supports other community growing projects and has worked with Natural England, RHS, Capital Growth, Social Farms and Gardens, and Hackney Parks to deliver training, presentations, and consultations around the positive impacts of community-based green interventions.

Ali Graham-Brown
Core Landscapes Community Gardener
Ali is a biodiversity-driven community Gardener and educator, and Biodiversity lead for Core Landscapes. They teach a weekly Beginner’s Gardening class for Core members, covering the fundamentals of horticultural and biodiversity principles. Together with students and community volunteers Ali works to make nature accessible to everyone, by collectively stewarding our community green space and creating a nurturing environment for mental respite.
Outside of Core, Ali works as an urban ecologist, managing habitat and monitoring the health of key taxonomic groups with a focus on plants and river restoration. They are passionate about supporting the development of a robust citizen science movement in urban spaces.
